The historic Park Estate is an exclusive 19th century residential area adjacent to Nottingham Castle and Hart’s Hotel.
A Conservation Area and Victorian housing estate with amazing architecture, green space and gas lights. Perfect for exploring during your visit to Nottingham, the Park Estate can be accessed down the Park Steps located alongside the hotel – turn left out of the black iron gates.
The area was once King Henry II’s royal park attached to Nottingham Castle, which contained deer as well as fish ponds and a falconry. The park would have provided both food and sport for castle residents.
Despite the proximity to the hustle and bustle of the city centre, the Park Estate remains an oasis of leafy calm, distinct from the noise and dense urban forms that surround it.
Stay in Nottingham’s hidden gem, Hart’s Hotel located on the old ramparts of Nottingham Castle and explore this historic area.
