Theme: Fine wines from Chile & Argentina hosted by Tim Hart and Tom Claxton (second Sommelier from Hambleton Hall)
Price: £65 per person
Chile and Argentina make large quantities of thoroughly decent wines at
competitive prices. Much of the output comes from very large wine making businesses. Such wine is likely to be reliable but lacking in individuality.
For our tasting we have chosen 8 wines from smaller producers producing medium priced (£10-25) wines of real character. For whatever reasons our favourites have involved a few wines made with less typical grape varieties such as Torrontes, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
