Last night we had great pleasure in attending the Nottingham Post Food & Drink Awards 2018 as finalists in the Best Fine Dining category. We feel incredibly proud to have been nominated by our customers, who were responsible for voting for us and showing their support for what we do. Hart’s were runner’s-up but we feel like winners – so thank you to everyone who voted for us.
We are delighted by the special award which was presented in memory of much-loved Langar Hall restauranteur Imogen Skirving to Tim Hart. The award recognised his outstanding contribution to the local food and drink industry after opening the restaurant 20 years ago.
The team at Hart’s are incredibly proud that Tim has won this award in the name of Imogen Skirving, a person for whom we all have great respect and admiration for. Tim has been in hospitality for nearly 40 years and this award represents his passion and commitment for delivering fine food and wine with impeccable hospitality. This is a particularly momentous occasion for us as we celebrate our 20th anniversary of being in Nottingham.
Having celebrated his recent 70th birthday, Tim is still very much involved with the hotel and restaurant and you’ll find him hosting the bi-monthly wine tasting and supper evenings. He loves nothing more than to share his knowledge and passion for great wines.
A number of the staff have worked with Tim for many years, including Sally Thornhill who joined the business 19 years ago. Sally commented:
“Mr Hart’s passion for the industry, his guests and his staff have been a true inspiration to me. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about food, wine and the service industry but also the history of the city in which he has chosen to establish his business. The knowledge of Nottingham and his desire to help this great city attract not only tourists but commercial industry through his support of organisations such as Invest in Nottingham, Visit Nottinghamshire and the BID are testament to a man that has gone above and beyond to support the city of Nottingham. Working with Mr Hart for all these years has been educational and has had a great influence in the person I am today. “
We all have a great respect for Tim or as we know him ‘Mr Hart’ and are delighted to see him receive this award.
