Wedding Open Day
February 16th, 2012
We all know that January is a busy time for weddings. There are plenty of excited brides and grooms to be, on the hunt for the perfect place to celebrate their special day after that oh so romantic Christmas or New Year engagement! At Hart’s this was the perfect time for us to hold our first Open Day of the year, allowing us to show off our wedding facilities to their best and give an insight into how that special day with us might go!
Hart’s Upstairs is our modern and contemporary function room where all the magic happens. As Wedding Coordinator, it’s my job to help each bride (and groom) imagine themselves right here with us, throughout the most important day of their lives. To give a little taste of how the wedding day might feel we set Hart’s Upstairs with round tables, as it would be for the wedding breakfast, and a ceremony area which helps the Bride and Groom envisage walking down the aisle. We also had plenty of photos of past weddings in and around the grounds; which, coupled with a description of how the day will run helps to clarify any ideas they have for their own unique Hart’s wedding.Licensed to conduct civil ceremonies and partnerships for up to a hundred guests, with the shutters drawn and the room adorned with tea lights and candles, Hart’s Upstairs is perfect for an intimate and romantic ceremony.
Hart’s is situated in a secluded cul-de –sac just a few minutes’ walk from Nottingham City Centre with breathtaking views of the stunning Park estate and beyond. Our private garden is not something everyone expects to find in such an urban location. And it’s the perfect place to toast your marriage; imagine raising a glass of Champagne in the sun with all of your closest friends and family, a jazz trio or string quartet set on the lawn and a delicious selection of canapés to keep you going until your wedding breakfast is served. It is also the ideal spot for some absolutely spectacular photos.
Once you have finished your post ceremony drinks its back to Hart’s Upstairs for your wedding breakfast. Called the wedding breakfast because it is the first meal of your married life together and not because you’ll be eating full English! Seated on round tables of a maximum 10 guests per table, adorned with beautiful floral creations from our recommended florist, Pam Gibson, it is the perfect place to eat drink and celebrate your marriage with your family and friends. A choice of sumptuous starters, mains and deserts can be chosen from our menus to suit every taste. Accompanied by some well chosen wines, your wedding breakfast will be remembered by you and your guests for a long time.
Once the speeches have been done and the groom has been ever so slightly embarrassed by his best man and the bride has shed a tear over the kind words of her father, it’s time to get your party shoes on. With a capacity of up to 120 and space for a DJ or band, it’s the perfect space to really let your hair down and have a truly memorable party.
Our next Open Day is Saturday 31st March. I hope to meet you then.

Hart’s Employee of the year
February 23rd, 2011Hart’s Employee of the year 2010 was Maggie Shaw. Maggie generally works in Hart’s Upstairs and often works with her daughter Kelly Shaw our Wedding Coordinator. It’s a real family affair as at one time or another Hart’s has employed both of Maggie’s daughters and even her granddaughter! Maggie was here for the first Hart’s Upstairs event in 2001 and was trained by Eddie Hart (Tim Hart’s son).
Regulars are reassured by Maggie’s efficient and friendly presence at events – Brides love her!
