• Hart’s Wine Dinner

    October 22nd, 2008

The next wine dinner at Hart’s will be on Tuesday 30th June 2009

The latest in a series of tutored tastings by Tim Hart and Dominique Baduel
    (Sommelier, Hambleton Hall)

“Some Favourite Wines from South Africa”
An opportunity to enjoy a tutored tasting of 8 top South African wines.

Tickets £55 per person, including tasting, dinner and wines.

South Africa is an especially interesting source of high qualtiy wines at present: recent currency fluctuations which have seen many European wines increase in price by some 20% have not affected the Rand.

For our selection we have chosen an excellent “Methode Champenoise”, two Chenin based whites and a delicious Sauvignon which shows the South African’s ability to capture some Old World minerality with some New World fruit.

For the reds we have three top Cabernets from Stellenbosch and a luscious Merlot from the Western Cape.

    The Tasting Wines

2007 Chamonix Cap Chardonnay Reserve, Franschhoek
    2008 Iona Sauvignon Blanc, Elgin
2007 Sequillo White, Eben Sadie, Malmesbury

    2005 Vergelegen Cabernet Sauvignon, Stellenbosch
