  • Hart’s Home Made Mince Pies and Stollen

    December 2nd, 2010

Thomas Buhse our German born Pastry chef has been working hard to make delicious Viennese Mince Pies and Stollen – both now available to buy from the Hotel’s Park Bar. The Mini Mince Pies cost just £8 for a box of 11 and the Stollen are £10 each.  Stollen was first baked at The Saxon Royal Court in 1427, its shape was originally meant to represent the baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes.  Stollen is a traditional German fruit bread made with sultanas, rum and mixed citrus peel, usually eaten in the Christmas Season.

  • Craig Revel Horwood at Hart’s

Craig Revel Horwood (pictured with some of the team from Hart’s Hotel and Restaurant) spent a Fab-u-lous afternoon at Hart’s this week when he was part of the British Sausage Week 2010 search for Britain’s Star Sausages.  Organised by The British Sausage Appreciation Society, British Sausage Week celebrates the taste, quality and diversity of the sausage, of which there are some 400 individually named varieties in Britain alone.

The winner of the East Midlands ‘golden sausage’ award was Syston Special Sausage by Leicester’s Gamble and Hollis.
Why not celebrate Sausage Week in the Hart’s Hotel’s Park Bar where we will be serving a variety of sausage dishes tomorrow night (Friday 5th November, Bonfire Night) between 5.30pm and 8pm.

  • Park Bar Fridays – Back to School

    September 24th, 2010

    Back to school

What’s your favourite dish from your school days?
That was the question we asked when we started the Back to School Fridays in the Hotel’s Park Bar.

In my household it would definitely be sausage and mash, but what about cottage pie, beef casserole or that mince flan thing that we had every week?  (Actually I hated that!)

We found it even harder to decide when we looked at puds – what about jam roly poly, spotted dick or bread and butter pudding?

Let us know your favourite (email marketing@hartsnottingham.co.uk) and maybe it will be on the menu next week?
